Telecommunications - O2 wants to offer hologram telephony from 2026
The mobile phone provider Telefónica Deutschland(O2) wants to launch hologram calls, in which the person you are talking to can be seen as a three-dimensional image, on the market in 2026. "The product should be ready for the market in two to three years," the company's Head of Technology, Malik Rao, told Deutsche Presse-Agentur in Munich. By then, the technology will have been integrated into the company's own system and sufficiently tested. "We want to start with corporate customers and offer it to the mass market in a second step." The competition is also working on the technology. Virtual reality glasses are used for holography.
