Number of unemployed falls minimally - but increase compared to previous year
The number of unemployed people in Germany fell by 1,000 to 2.606 million in November compared to the previous month. However, this is 172,000 more than in November 2022, according to the Federal Employment Agency. The unemployment rate was 5.6 percent in November after 5.7 percent in October.
Although the number of unemployed individuals decreased by 1,000 in November compared to the previous month, there was a notable rise of 172,000 compared to November 2022. This substantial increase in unemployment contrasts with the overall decrease observed in recent years.
