Services - Number of postal complaints remains at a high level
Delayed letters and parcels are still causing a lot of annoyance among citizens. By the end of the year, the Federal Network Agency in Bonn announced that it would have received significantly more than 40,000 critical complaints.
In the previous year, the number of complaints almost tripled to a high of 43,512. There were only around 19,000 complaints in 2020 and around 15,000 in 2021. This year, the number of complaints initially fell, but then rose again. Overall, the high level of the previous year was almost reached again.
However, the proportion of complaints is very low in relation to the approximately 15 billion items sent each year. The criticism is mainly directed at market leader Deutsche Post, but also at its competitors. A spokesperson for Deutsche Post said that the volume of shipments is currently very high and that there are also many sick notes.

The issue of postal complaints continues to be a significant concern in Germany, with Deutsche Post and its competitors frequently being the subject of criticism. Despite the high volume of over 15 billion items sent annually, the number of complaints reached nearly 44,000 in 2022, indicating a dissatisfaction among consumers with postal services.
