Services - Number of postal complaints remains at a high level
Delayed letters and parcels are still causing a lot of annoyance among citizens. The Federal Network Agency announced in Bonn on Wednesday that it would have received significantly more than 40,000 critical complaints by the end of the year. In the previous year, the number of complaints almost tripled to a record 43,512. There were only around 19,000 complaints in 2020 and around 15,000 in 2021. This year, the number of complaints initially fell, but then rose again. Overall, the high level of the previous year was almost reached again.
However, the proportion of complaints is very low in relation to the approximately 15 billion items sent each year. The criticism is mainly directed at market leader Deutsche Post, but also at its competitors. A spokesperson for Deutsche Post said that the volume of shipments is currently very high and that there are also many sick notes.
