Economy - Number of companies in Saxony-Anhalt increased

The number of companies based in Saxony-Anhalt increased slightly last year. Overall, the number of "legal entities" rose by 0.3 percent to around 69,100, according to the State Statistical Office on Friday. The authority interpreted this as a "slight recovery in the economy". According to the statisticians, the companies employed almost 650,000 people, which corresponds to an increase of 0.4 percent. The number of all establishments located in the state - i.e. business premises - rose slightly to around 78,000.
