NRW school map supplemented with accident blackspots
Parents and pupils can now check where dangers lurk on the way to school. The NRW school map - the directory of all schools in the state - has been supplemented by a map of traffic accident blackspots, the State Statistical Office announced in Düsseldorf on Monday.
The data for this comes from the accident atlas, which shows accidents involving personal injury. Another new feature of the school map is a radius search. This allows users to define a radius from a self-defined point within which all schools are displayed and listed.
The addition of traffic accident blackspots to the NRW school map aims to alert parents and pupils to potential risks on their commute. Regularly checking this map, which includes data from the accident atlas, could help prevent accidents related to traffic.
