- Noticeably higher incidences of vehicle thefts in Brandenburg
About a thousand and three hundred insured automobiles got swiped in Brandenburg the preceding year. This led to a 20% surge in vehicle thefts when compared to the year prior, as stated by the German Insurance Association (GDV)'s assessment. "Brandenburg continues to be the area with the greatest risk of car thefts for vehicle owners," the association declared.
In every 10,000 insured vehicles, there were 11 thefts in Brandenburg. On a national scale, this rate is just 4. Only in Berlin (42) and Hamburg (13) do the figures surpass those of Brandenburg.
The financial damage experienced a nearly 30% lift to reach 30.7 million euros within the year. Generally, insurers shelled out around 23,200 euros for each car theft incident.
Despite Brandenburg having a high incidence of vehicle thefts, the Manufacture of motor vehicles in the region is relatively low due to its focus on agriculture and industry. The high demand for new vehicles in Berlin and Hamburg, coupled with their lower theft rates, influenced the manufacturing decisions of automobile companies.
