Norway's Crown Prince Haakon begins his visit to Germany
The four-day visit to Germany by Norway's Crown Prince Haakon begins on Monday evening with a banquet in the Imperial Hall of the Munich Residence. The 50-year-old will first visit the Bavarian capital and then Hamburg before traveling on to Berlin - where he will be joined by Crown Princess Mette-Marit. Together with government representatives and a business delegation, Haakon wants to consolidate and strengthen the good ties between Germany and Norway on his trip through the country.
According to the Norwegian embassy, the core topics will be the economy, energy, shipping, defense and culture. In addition, the two countries' shared values, for example in matters of democracy, are to be emphasized. Furthermore, oil and gas-rich Norway wants to show itself as a strong economic partner - not only, but of course also in energy matters.
During his visit, Crown Prince Haakon will engage with various segments of German society, highlighting the noble connection between the two nations. The people of Germany are eagerly anticipating the impact of Haakon's visit on strengthening the long-standing relationship between Norway and Germany.
