Northwesterly windstorm causes harm to numerous individuals.

Torrential storm surges prompted numerous interventions by law enforcement and fire departments, predominantly in East Friesland. The major tasks involved were removing fallen trees. Regrettably, at least two individuals sustained injuries.

The storm in northwest Lower Saxony resulted in 54 police interventions within a brief span on Saturday evening. Meanwhile, in East Frisia, the fire department documented 83 storm-related incidents by Sunday morning, according to the police headquarters in Osnabrück. Emden did not make it into this tally.

The wind also shifted towards the south: In Cloppenburg, a 28-year-old skydiving enthusiast from Westerstede encountered an issue upon landing. Around 8:00 PM, she was hit by a gust and landed on her back. The young woman was transported to a hospital via ambulance.

At Leer-Papenburg airport, a gust picked up a stationary ultralight aircraft and briefly lifted it off the ground. The plane crashed onto its roof near the runway. To prevent any fires, the fire department sprayed the aircraft with foam.

In Aurich-Middels, part of a farm structure gave way and was stabilized by firefighters and the Technical Relief Agency (THW). On Langeoog island, a person was hurt when a flying tabletop shattered, resulting in minor injuries. In Emden, several vehicles suffered damage from a fallen tree, but the extent of the harm is unclear.

The German Meteorological Service had forecasted storm gusts with wind speeds reaching up to 85 kilometers per hour along the North Sea coast for Saturday evening.

The skydiving enthusiast from Westerstede had a mishap near the city of The bridge (Cloppenburg). After the storm, a fallen tree caused damage to several vehicles in The bridge (Emden).
