German National Handball League - North handball clubs' results show wins, ties, and losses.

Last day of the Handball Bundesliga season brought a whirlwind of emotions for the northern clubs. SG Flensburg-Handewitt triumphed with a score of 40:30 against Bergischer HC. They didn't start off strong, but turned the game around before the break, ensuring the defeat of their opponents. European League champions SG claimed third place with a total of 50:18 points.

THW Kiel wasn't so lucky. They were in dire straits, trailing 6:12 in the 23rd minute. However, they made a comeback and just before the end of the game took the lead with Nikola Bilyk's goal, but NT Melsungen managed to achieve a draw. The record champions ended the season with 47:21 points as fourth.

Meanwhile, HSV Hamburg faced a grim reality playing away from home against HBW Balingen-Weilstetten. Their coach, Torsten Jansen, wasn't happy early on. "Can we please play actively in defense and not passively and wait?" he demanded during a timeout in the ninth minute. Not a good sign, since it meant ninth place in the final standings with 30:38 points.

The Handball Bundesliga will decide the license for HSV Hamburg on Wednesday. The Hanseaten must make a yet-unknown security contribution to obtain a permit for the next season. If this doesn't happen, Hamburgers will be compelled to relegate. On the flip side, this vacancy will mean Bergischer HC remains in the league. The club has hinted at a legal action against this decision. They will also assess any additional, civil law measures starting from Monday.
