Bundesliga - No winter transfer of Barça star Araujo to FC Bayern
According to a media report, there will be no transfer of Ronald Araujo to FC Bayern Munich, at least not this winter. According to information from pay-TV channel Sky, the subject is off the table. There would be a small chance for the summer, even if central defender Araujo were to extend his contract with FC Barcelona beyond 2026.
According to Sky, Bayern were prepared to pay over 60 million for the defender. There is also said to have already been a phone call between Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel, sporting director Christoph Freund and the Uruguayan international.
Araujo moved to the Catalans from Boston River in the summer of 2018 for around €4.7 million and has since become a leading player there. The 24-year-old's contract at Barcelona runs until June 30, 2026 and his market value is estimated at €70 million.
