- No water in Wilhelmshaven: Tens of thousands affected

Wilhelmshaven (dpa/lni) - Disruptions in the water network have caused a failure of drinking water in the entire city of Wilhelmshaven. More than 45,000 households were affected in the afternoon, as the city of Wilhelmshaven announced. The water supplier had already repaired the first damages after a short time. The city expected the repairs to last until the evening hours. The cause of the disruptions was damage to water pipes that occurred during ongoing construction work. The city asked residents to refrain from using washing machines, dishwashers, and sprinklers - with the water still available in the network, it should be used sparingly.

The city advised residents to conserve water by avoiding using washing machines and dishwashers, as the water supply was still functional despite the disruptions. Despite the repairs to the initial damage, the city anticipated the disruptions would continue into the evening hours due to the damaged water pipes from construction work.
