- No trains for three hours after grenade was found in Neumünster
Neumünster's train traffic to Kiel and Flensburg was disrupted for approximately three hours on Sunday. The cause was the discovery of an old World War II-era anti-tank grenade during construction work on the tracks north of the station in Neumünster, as stated by a spokesperson for the Federal Police. The ordnance disposal service secured the grenade. After nearly three hours, the route was reopened in the afternoon.
The disrupted train traffic on Sunday affected travel plans for many commuters to Kiel and Flensburg. Despite the delay, passengers resumed their journeys on the Neumünster route in the afternoon.
