Local traffic - No more SchülerFerienTicket MV this year

After more than two decades, the SchülerFerienTicket for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern will not be offered this year. Despite earlier successes and high sales numbers, the demand has been declining steadily in recent years, as a spokesperson from Nahbus Nordwestmecklenburg announced on Friday.

The reason for the decreased demand is the introduction of the Deutschlandticket, it was stated. This has encouraged many passengers to use public transportation, resulting in the SchülerFerienTicket MV being significantly less requested in the past summer. Students and other passengers can purchase the Deutschlandticket for 49 Euro per month as a Handyticket in the Nahbus Ticket App during the summer holidays. The Deutschlandticket is monthly available and therefore just as suitable for the holiday season.

  1. Despite the decline in demand for the SchulerFerienTicket in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, local traffic in the region has benefited from the increased use of public transportation due to the Germany ticket.
  2. During their vacation, students in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania now have an alternative to the SchulerFerienTicket, as the Deutschlandticket is also available for purchase in the Nahbus Ticket App.
  3. The Schwerin railway station is a key stop for the Nahbus network, allowing passengers with Germany tickets to easily travel within Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania for local traffic.
  4. In Germany, ticket sales for the Deutschlandticket have been positive, as it has encouraged more people to use public transportation, even during holidays and for traveling between German towns and cities like Schwerin.
