No "miracle cure": 1. FC Nuremberg can rely on Flick

1. FC Nürnberg can, somewhat surprisingly, rely on Florian Flick again for the away game at SC Paderborn. The 23-year-old midfielder has returned to full team training ahead of the game on Saturday (13:00/Sky), as coach Cristian Fiél said on Thursday. The second-division club had previously announced at the beginning of the week that Flick would have to sit out training for a few days due to an ankle injury.

"I don't think it's a miracle recovery," said Fiél. "It wasn't that bad, thank God. I'm delighted that he's back." After the 2-1 defeat to FC Schalke last time out, the Franconians want to get back to winning ways before the international break. "But it will be a tough task," warned the coach. "Paderborn are in a really good moment." The East Westphalians have won their last two competitive matches.

  1. With Florian Flick back in full training, 1st FC Nuremberg might find an additional boost for their upcoming Bundesliga 2 match against SC Paderborn.
  2. Despite their recent successes, SC Paderborn will face a challenging opponent in 1st FC Nuremberg, as the team, now bolstered by the return of midfielder Florian Flick, aims to turn their fortunes around after their previous defeat against FC Schalke.
