East Holstein - No information yet on the cause of the department store fire
Even several days after the fire at a department store complex in Heiligenhafen in the Ostholstein district, there is still no information on the cause of the fire. A police spokeswoman said on Tuesday that investigations were still ongoing and evidence was still being evaluated. She was also unable to provide any information on the amount of damage.
The department store, which had only opened four weeks previously, had burnt down completely on Friday. According to the police, a car parked in front of the building was also completely burnt out. The roof of an amusement arcade directly adjacent to the department store was also damaged by the fire, the spokeswoman said. However, no people were injured, although the fire broke out during the department store's opening hours.
