- No bomb threats to schools

Following renewed bomb threats against schools in Thuringia, police have given the all-clear. No hazardous items were found during searches at the thirteen affected schools, a police spokeswoman said.

Nine schools in Weimar, two in Jena, one in Thamsbrück (Unstrut-Hainich district), and one in Schleusingen (Hildburghausen district) were targeted. They received identical bomb threats via email. While police did not consider the threats credible, some schools were evacuated as a precaution. Classes resumed at some schools after the situation was resolved.

Police are also investigating other threats

Investigations into the unknown sender of the email are ongoing. The suspect could face charges of disturbing the public peace by threatening a crime, a police spokesman said. Possible links to other similar threats in recent months are being examined, another spokeswoman added.

This is the third series of threatening emails against Thuringian schools since the start of the school year in early August. On the very first day back after the summer holidays, police were called to several schools due to identical emails from the same sender containing bomb threats. Police were able to give the all-clear in these cases as well.

The following is a list of the schools that were targeted: nine in Weimar, two in Jena, one in Thamsbrück (Unstrut-Hainich district), and one in Schleusingen (Hildburghausen district). Regarding the species of threats, the police are currently investigating other similar cases from recent months.
