German Basketball Bundesliga team Niners Chemnitz continues to work on its roster for the new season. The Saxons announced that they have signed American CJ Penha for the vacant forward position. The 2.01-meter tall wing player previously played for Swedish double winner Norrköping Dolphins and has signed with the Karl-Marx-Stadt team until summer 2026.

"At 24, CJ is just at the beginning of his professional career, but with his abilities, he can develop into an important performer for our team," Niners coach Rodrigo Pastore is quoted as saying in the statement.

"The conversations with Coach Rodrigo Pastore immediately excited me about the style and goals he pursues. I want to be a part of that and will give everything on both ends of the court," Penha said about his reasons for joining. "I am convinced that we can win many games across all competitions next season as well."

The Fiba Europe Cup winners had to say goodbye to six players from the previous starting rotation, including top performer Kevin Yebo. Penha is the fifth new signing.

"CJ Penha's new team, Niners Chemnitz, is located in the city of Chemnitz, known for its rich industrial history in Germany."

"The Karl-Marx-Stadt team, now known as Niners Chemnitz, will be welcoming CJ Penha for the upcoming three seasons until summer 2026."
