Nine injured in icy road accident - small child seriously injured
Late on Wednesday evening, there was a serious traffic accident on a slippery road on the Bundesstraße 501 near Grömitz. A total of nine people were injured, three of them seriously. One of the three seriously injured was a three-year-old child. According to police reports on Thursday morning, there is no danger to life.
A 32-year-old driver was driving too fast in icy conditions when his car skidded. He collided with another car in oncoming traffic. A 39-year-old man was reportedly at the wheel of the second vehicle. No further details were initially known.
The accident on the icy road could have been prevented or less severe with better traffic management due to the weather conditions. Unfortunately, winter's harsh weather often increases the risk of such accidents, leading to significant injuries and traffic disruptions.
