Gatherings or Events - Nine individuals from Lower Saxony will serve as members of the European Parliament.

At the European Parliament in Lower Saxony, there'll be nine representatives. They're from the CDU, SPD, Greens, FDP, AfD, and Volt, as per Monday's announcement by the state election commission. Each of these parties claimed one seat except for the CDU and SPD, which obtained three and two respectively.

Lower Saxony's CDU remains the stronghold, being the leading force as it has always been since 2019. With a 31.4% vote share, they managed to enhance their position by a miniscule 1.5 percentage points compared to the last European election in 2019. The SPD, though, slid a hair down to a 19.5% share.

The AfD saw a significant boost, ascending into the third spot with a 13.2% result - a leap of over 5 percentage points. The Greens, on the other hand, trailed behind with a 12.2% share but still had a remarkable drop of more than ten percentage points. The FDP's share increased to 5.3%, while the BSW sprang up from zero to 4.5%.

With a total of six million eligible voters, voter turnout soared to 64.1%, 2.6 percentage points higher compared to 2019.
