Nine arrests in drug raid in Berlin

Police have arrested nine suspects in a raid against a suspected drug gang in Berlin. Investigators also confiscated extensive evidence, including suspected cocaine, marijuana, amphetamine and ecstasy, during the operation late on Thursday evening.

Searches - Nine arrests in drug raid in Berlin

Police have arrested nine suspects in a raid against a suspected drug gang in Berlin. Investigators also seized extensive evidence during the operation late on Thursday evening, including suspected cocaine, marijuana, amphetamine and ecstasy.

As the police further announced on Friday, the gang is said to have been operating a cocaine delivery service using a messenger service since May 2023 at the latest. The members are said to have divided up tasks such as the procurement and delivery of drugs as well as coordination among themselves.

During the raid, eight properties in Kreuzberg, Schöneberg and Tempelhof were searched, it was reported. These were the apartments of the suspects, premises for storing drugs, a betting office and numerous vehicles.

The nine people arrested are between 23 and 44 years old and were initially taken into police custody. Three of them were released again after being identified. The remaining six were to be brought before a magistrate on Friday. The investigation into suspected gang trafficking in cocaine in not insignificant quantities is ongoing.
