Construction sites - Night train between Berlin and Paris canceled for weeks
The night trains from Berlin to Paris and Brussels will be cancelled due to railway construction works in Germany and France from mid-August to end of October. The same applies to the night connection between Vienna and Paris, as the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) announced. Therefore, the three connections will be cancelled from August 12th to October 25th.
"Unfortunately, we have to temporarily suspend the operation of some Nightjet lines to avoid unexpected train disruptions, delays, and inconvenience for our customers", the ÖBB stated.
The night connections between Berlin and Paris were only added to the Nightjet schedule in December. The journey to Paris takes approximately 14 hours and passes through Halle (Saale), Erfurt, and Mannheim. The train is divided en route to also enable a connection to Brussels.
Initially, there were planned three departures per week from Berlin to Paris. However, in recent times, fewer connections were actually offered.
