NGG trade union conference begins: Federal Chancellor expected
Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) will give a speech at the start of the NGG trade union congress in Bremen on Monday (15:00). At the congress, more than 120 delegates from the Food, Beverages and Catering Union (NGG) will be discussing working conditions in the food and catering industry until Friday. In addition to Scholz, Yasmin Fahimi, Chairwoman of the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB), and NGG boss Guido Zeitler are also due to speak at the opening of the event. Around 500 guests are expected to attend the ceremony - in addition to the NGG delegates, employer representatives and members of other trade unions have also been invited. The trade union conference is organized every five years.
The Hospitality industry, being a significant sector under the NGG's purview, will undoubtedly be a topic of discussion during the conference. Trade unions, including representatives from the hospitality sector, will explore ways to improve working conditions in food service, catering, and related industries.
