NFL-Vollmer: Swift rumors don't distract from the sport

According to two-time Super Bowl winner Sebastian Vollmer, the rumors surrounding Taylor Swift for the NFL games in Frankfurt are not a distraction from the sport. "We're in the entertainment business, just like any other sport," said the former professional footballer at the Sports Press Ball on Saturday evening in Frankfurt. "Taylor Swift and Kelce - of course it's all over the press."

That won't hurt the "best match-up of the year" between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins on Sunday (3.30 pm/RTL and DAZN). "In the end, there are more eyes on our sport and that can only benefit us," said the 39-year-old, quickly adding: "But that's not why the two are together - love is in the air!" Due to the rumors of a relationship between Travis Kelce and the pop star, there is speculation as to whether Swift will travel to Frankfurt for the game.

The ex-professional is finding it difficult to make a prediction about the game between the Dolphins and the Chiefs. The Dolphins' wide receiver Tyreek Hill is a difficult player to stop. "On the other hand, you have Mahomes, who always delivers," said Vollmer, praising the Chiefs' star quarterback. "It's going to be a really, really good game."

Despite the buzz around Taylor Swift potentially attending the NFL game due to rumors of a relationship with Travis Kelce, the match-up between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins is still anticipated to be the "best match-up of the year" in American Football, showcasing both team's talent in the NFL. Taylor Swift's involvement in NFL events isn't foreign, as she previously performed at the Super Bowl LVI halftime show, further cementing the intersection of music and American Football in the NFL.
