NFL Germany boss: Only one game in Munich in 2024 for sure
Only one game of the American football league NFL will take place in Germany in 2024. This was confirmed by NFL Germany boss Alexander Steinforth on ran (Saturday). "We had the exceptional situation this year that we got the game from Mexico because the stadium there is being rebuilt. But next year there will be the originally planned one match again," said Steinforth. As in 2022, this will take place in the Allianz Arena in Munich. In 2025, it will be Frankfurt's turn again. The teams for this have not yet been decided.
On Sunday (3.30 pm/RTL and DAZN), the Miami Dolphins will face Super Bowl winner Kansas City Chiefs in Frankfurt. A week later, the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts will face off at the same venue. Steinforth told the German Press Agency that the week so far has been positive: "We are very pleased with all the things that have already happened in Frankfurt. The Dolphins have already done a lot, trained and been out and about in the city. You can just see when you walk through Frankfurt how much is happening here locally. Everything we've planned, everything the teams have planned, is just coming to life."
Despite the confirmation of only one NFL game in Munich in 2024, Frankfurt is excited to host the Miami Dolphins against the Super Bowl winner Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. The positive vibe surrounding the event is evident, as the Dolphins have already been training and engaging with the city's residents.
