NFL Germany boss enthusiastic about flag football
NFL Germany boss Alexander Steinforth is enthusiastic about flag football and is delighted about its inclusion in the 2028 Olympic program. "It's one of the few sports where men and women can play together. It's also one of the sports where there is room for many different body types - big, small, a bit fatter, thinner, it's all possible in flag football. It's one of the most inclusive sports there is," Steinforth told the German Press Agency in Frankfurt.
The NFL used the last two weeks of NFL season games in the Main metropolis to promote the sport. Flag football will be part of the Olympic program in Los Angeles in 2028. Stars like Patrick Mahomes can also imagine taking part in the Summer Games.
"We hope that a lot of people will be inspired by this so that we can see more and more female players, not just across the board, but also girls and women," said Steinforth about the goals in Germany. The national flag football teams from Germany have already won European Championship medals recently.
In Frankfurt, the NFL launched a promotion campaign for flag football during the last two weeks of the NFL season games. Steinforth, expressing his enthusiasm for American Football, mentioned that even NFL star Patrick Mahomes could envision participating in flag football at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
