Next home defeat for Hamburg Towers in the Eurocup

The Veolia Towers Hamburg have suffered another home defeat in the Basketball Eurocup. On Tuesday evening, the team of Head Coach Benka Barloschky lost 71:84 (37:47) to newcomers BC Wolves Vilnius from Lithuania in the Inselparkhalle. It was the Hamburg club's fourth home defeat in this competition and its seventh defeat in its eighth game. The home side's best scorer was Mark Hughes with 14 points.

Hamburg missed the start of the game completely. After just under four minutes, William Christmas scored the first goal with a free throw to make it 1:15.

However, the home side then improved and reduced the deficit to eight points by the end of the first quarter. The second period was more evenly poised. The Towers still had the chance to turn the game around.

However, the Lithuanians remained the more effective team in the third period and extended their lead. Hamburg was no longer able to increase the pressure in the final quarter and prevent defeat.

Despite the loss, Hamburg Towers continue their Eurocup journey at the Veolia Towers Hamburg. Their next opponent could potentially be a challenging one, given their poor home record.
