Qatar Airways is expected to fly daily between Hamburg and its capital Doha starting soon, Hamburg Airport announced. The airport's CEO, Christian Kunsch, stated: "The new connection from Hamburg to Doha, one of the most significant and fastest growing hubs, significantly increases Hamburg's connectivity to the world." According to reports, the first Qatar Airways plane landed in Hamburg on a Monday.
In Germany, Qatar Airways currently flies to Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich, and Düsseldorf. Qatar Airways plans to operate the long-haul flight between Hamburg and Doha without a stopover.
In relation to the new connection, the airport officials anticipate an increase in cargo handling in Hamburg. It is possible that the cargo sector at the airport could grow by up to 11% in the previous year's comparison, they said.
