Dehoga - New collective wage agreement for Hesse's gastronomy sector

The Hessian hospitality industry is using collective bargaining to attract additional staff. On Tuesday, the NGG trade union and the hotel and catering association Dehoga presented a new collective wage agreement (MTV) in Wiesbaden, which will apply from next year. The catering industry had lost a number of employees during the coronavirus crisis and subsequently struggled to find new staff.

"The reorganization of the MTV was long overdue and will bring a noticeable improvement in the general conditions thanks to the financial added value of around 6.5 percent," explained Dehoga collective bargaining manager Gerald Kink. Together with the collective wage agreement concluded in 2022, employees have received a salary increase of more than 15 percent within two years. Among other things, the collective agreement includes higher vacation entitlements and extended public holiday bonuses.
