Economy - Networking and more funding advice with innovation agency

With a new innovation agency, companies in Rhineland-Palatinate are to be networked more closely with one another and advice on funding opportunities is to be strengthened. "The innovation agency will be both a guide and a moderator," said Minister of Economic Affairs Daniela Schmitt (FDP) on Monday in Mainz at the launch of the agency's operational work with more than 150 participants. The aim is also to bring together and network the players from business and science in the state. The establishment of the innovation agency is an important project in the coalition agreement of the coalition government.

"We are a guide through the Rhineland-Palatinate innovation ecosystem, to suitable cooperation partners and funding opportunities," explained Sabine Mesletzky, Managing Director of the Innovation Agency. In order to effectively support the innovation landscape in Rhineland-Palatinate, a holistic view is necessary. Innovation does not only mean technology, but is also an important factor for the creative industry. "Here, too, we want to strengthen exchange across all sectors - we are only strong as a network."

According to the innovation agency, it has set up the online platform "LoftOS" for direct and uncomplicated exchange between the players. Here, researchers, start-ups and companies as well as chambers, associations and clusters can exchange news or post offers and requests. Users can also find information on specialist and networking events as well as funding opportunities. In the future, the platform will map innovation activities in the state, promote cross-innovation and support collaborations.
