A man in Kempten threatened neighbors with a knife, triggering a major police response involving Special Forces. Around 11 pm, a 33-year-old man threatened neighbors with a weapon, but no one was injured, police said. One person was reportedly in shock.
Shortly after police arrived, the 33-year-old appeared at his apartment window with a firearm. An officer then fired a warning shot, according to reports. Special forces were able to secure the man unharmed and without resistance in his apartment.
During a subsequent search of the apartment, police seized the knife, an imitation firearm, and a so-called "soft air" gun. The 33-year-old was reportedly taken to a psychiatric hospital due to an exceptional psychological state. He is now being investigated for threatening behavior.
The police officers communicated with the man through the apartment window, urging him to surrender. The incident prompted heightened security measures in the neighborhood, with additional police presence.
