EU citizens in Hesse were mostly Romanian nationals, totaling 83,510 individuals. Coming in second were Polish nationals, numbering 79,530. Italy had the third-highest representation with 73,990 citizens. The fewest number of EU citizens hailed from Malta, only 90 in total.
