Upcoming voting events in Europe - Nationwide day of action for democracy featuring 20 events.
The "Democratic MV" coalition calls for a nationwide action day on Sunday. A week before the municipal and European elections in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, this initiative aims to send a resounding message in favor of democracy and tolerance once more and encourage voting for democratic candidates on June 9th.
According to a spokesperson, the coalition adopts the motto of the protest movement from the beginning of this year, "Never again is now," under which individuals from various sectors of society joined forces to counter threats to the liberal-democratic order. "We invite everyone to join us in a powerful statement against racism and right-wing extremists," says the call of the coalition, which has garnered support from regional initiatives and networks, including the Nordkirche.
Across the country, there are 20 events scheduled. The day kicks off at 10:00 a.m. with a rally in Greifswald.
