Basketball - Narrow defeat for Ulm in the Eurocup
Ratiopharm Ulm has lost in the Basketball Eurocup. The team coached by Anton Gavel lost 90:94 (47:43) at the Lithuanian club BC Lietkabelis on Tuesday. With a record of 8:4 wins, the German champions are fourth in Group B but still have a good chance of advancing to the next round.
After two successive Eurocup victories, Ulm produced a good display for 20 minutes in the north of Lithuania and went into the break with a four-point lead. However, a weak third quarter (18:25) meant they trailed by 65:68 going into the final period. The home side was able to hold on to its lead over time. Karim Jallow was the Bundesliga club's best scorer with 24 points.
