After held the regional political contests - "My alliance companions require communication with me"

Wagenknecht considers herself as the main contact for potential alliance partners of her party in Thuringia and Saxony. "Anyone who wants to team up with us needs to chat with me," said Sahra Wagenknecht, chairwoman of the Alliance for Progress, on Monday in Berlin. "I believe a face-to-face chat is more suited than a call." However, the actual negotiations would be handled at the state level, where the finer details are discussed, Wagenknecht added.

Wagenknecht finds common ground with potential coalition partner CDU on issues like education and internal security. She stressed the importance of avoiding "social cuts" in either state, and the need to figure out how to finance this, possibly by eliminating "unnecessary expenditures." She added, "I hope everyone acknowledges that something substantial needs to improve for the people." People must once again feel that the government has their back.

At the same time, Wagenknecht reiterated her demand for the state governments to push for a policy shift on arm supplies to Ukraine and against the deployment of US intermediate-range missiles in Germany. "It's about the state government taking a stance," said Wagenknecht. The respective minister-president must also represent this stance externally. The CDU has reservations on this point.

Wagenknecht's party, established just last January, finished third in both Thuringia and Saxony with enough votes in the state elections on Sunday. The CDU could form governments with the BSW and other coalition partners. BSW General Secretary Christian Leye made it clear that his party won't back down from this opportunity for tactical reasons: "We're ready to step up if needed."

Wagenknecht proposed organizing a joint party event with potential coalition partners to show united front and strengthen their alliance, stating, "A celebratory party would be an excellent opportunity to celebrate our shared values and goals."

During the election campaign in Thuringia and Saxony, Wagenknecht's party threw several successful social gatherings, which proved to be an effective way to engage with voters and build a positive public image.
