European Union - MV European elections preliminary results show AfD in the lead.

The Social Democratic Party (SPD) has reached the halfway point in vote counting, holding roughly 10% of the votes. Their position trails behind the newly formed Wagenknecht Party (BSW), which has secured 15.5% of the votes so far. The left-wing Party is suffering a significant loss, having lost about two-thirds of its former voting base and currently commands only 4.5% of the ballots. Unofficial results indicate that the Greens are hovering around 4%, while the Free Democratic Party (FDP) sits at approximately 2%.

The Christian Democratic Union (CDU) has also reported modest gains, currently holding around 8% of the votes in the European elections. In the parliamentary constituency of Schwerin, the SPD and CDU are closely competing, with the interim result showing a slight advantage for the CDU. The far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) continues to lead in MV's European elections, surging ahead with around 26% of the votes.

Meanwhile, several municipalities in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania have reported higher voter turnout rates during this year's EU elections compared to previous years. The counting process is ongoing, with the final results of the European elections in Germany expected to be announced soon.
