- Muslim Central Council: Action regarded as an affront to open societal values
The German Muslim Central Council (ZMD) has strongly criticized the stabbing incident in Solingen, resulting in three deaths and eight injuries, labeling it as a "despicable act". "We are horrified and outraged by the deadly stabbing incident on innocent civilians in Solingen," the statement said.
This major body depicted the incident as a "hostile and inhumane assault against our democratic society". All measures should be taken to "defend the core values of our liberal, open, and diverse society." Any form of hatred, provocation, extremism, or radicalism has no place in Germany, the ZMD underscored.
Last Friday evening, three individuals lost their lives and eight were injured, four severely, during a city celebration in the North Rhine-Westphalian Solingen. A 26-year-old Syrian man, currently in custody, is the prime suspect. The federal prosecutor's office is probing him for murder charges and alleged involvement in the terrorist organization ISIS (Islamic State), which claimed responsibility for the attack.
The German Muslim Central Council (ZMD) emphasized that any form of hatred or radicalism has no place in Germany, highlighting their strong stance against such actions. The incident in Solingen, where three individuals were tragically killed and eight were injured, underscores the need to protect the core values of Germany's liberal, open, and diverse society.
