- Musicians persist in performing to avert hysteria
Following the tragic stabbing incident at Solingen's city festival, where I was performing, the event security approached me and asked me to keep spinning tunes to prevent an immediate mass panic after the incident. I found this task incredibly challenging, given that lives had been lost, as I mentioned on Instagram. Previously, both "Rheinische Post" and "Der Spiegel" had covered this story.
Shortly afterwards, the music was halted, and the crowd was briefed on the situation, as I detailed in my post and a series of stories. Alongside others, I sought refuge in a nearby shop. "I still can't wrap my head around it," the musician, whose real name is Tobias Topic, expressed. Close companions of his were present at the city festival with their young children. His sympathies lie with the victims and their families.
During a city festival attack on a Friday evening, three individuals lost their lives. Eight more individuals were injured, with five of them suffering severe wounds. The North Rhine-Westphalia police classified the act as an attack due to the deliberate targeting of the perpetrator.
The musician, Tobias Topic, shared his disbelief after the incident, stating, "I still can't wrap my head around it." Additionally, Tobias expressed his sympathies towards the victims and their families.
