The oratorios of the composer Carl Loewe (1796-1869), who became known as the "Ballad King", are the focus of the Carl Loewe Festival next year. From April 14 to 21, Loewe's birthplace Wettin-Löbejün in the Saale district and nearby Halle will focus on the 18 oratorios from his pen, according to the International Carl Loewe Society. The oratorio "Job" is to be performed in the Marktkirche in Halle.
The society also referred to the 155th anniversary of Loewe's death next year. The ninth festival in his honor will be held under the motto "Invention, Spirit, Grace". To open the festival, the Vochales Chamber Choir will give a concert entitled "Days of delight, are you coming so soon?" in Löbejün's St. Peter's Church. In addition to concerts, a symposium, a festive church service and a tour of the town will also be part of the festival, which was first held in 2002. They were last held in 2021.
