Mushroom picker searched for with a large contingent and turns up again
A 60-year-old mushroom hunter in a forest near Eisenhüttenstadt (Oder-Spree district) has triggered a major search operation by the police and fire department. The man had separated from the group looking for mushrooms on Friday afternoon and said that he would find his way home on his own, the police announced on Sunday. It was only on Saturday morning and after the unsuccessful search operation, in which drones were also used, that the man reappeared heavily intoxicated. He stated that he had been robbed by unknown men. Some of the suspected robbery goods were later recovered nearby, but a small amount of cash and some personal clothing were missing. The criminal investigation department is now investigating.
The man expressed concerns about the missing cash and personal items, potentially indicating an emergency due to the robbery. Despite the intense search efforts, it's crucial to alert authorities immediately in case of any emergencies.
