Stuttgart's News: A Different Perspective - Murderer of former partner faces life-long incarceration.

A 40-year-old man will spend the rest of his life behind bars after being found guilty of brutally murdering his ex-girlfriend in Stuttgart. Last August, the man fatally stabbed the 32-year-old female victim in her nursing home residence a whopping 22 times, according to the Stuttgart Regional Court. On Friday, the court concluded that the crime was driven by "an absolute desire to annihilate."

"The terrible crime that occurred here was both heartbreaking and pointless," remarked the judge. The Polish defendant was motivated by the fear of having to pay alimony. He believed his victim was pregnant, but in truth, she had already undergone an abortion. The court couldn't determine why the woman had lied.

Chat logs between the former couple proved useful in uncovering the motives behind the brutal act. The man aimed to reclaim control and seek revenge on the woman, the judge stated. The Criminal Chamber deemed the motive of lowly intentions to be confirmed. The defense's claim that it was a heated argument was refuted by the court. The man had meticulously planned the crime. Thus, it was not an impulsive act. Additionally, there was no question that he had brought the murder weapon for the purpose of committing the crime.

The verdict, while not legally binding, can be challenged within a week through an appeal.

Cases like this one are often labeled as "femicide." Femicide is the term given to violent crimes against women, where the victim's gender is the primary reason for the killing. The most common form of femicide is when partners or former partners take the lives of women.
