Soon, the murder attempt case against a woman, witnessed by her children, will reach its conclusion. On Friday (9:00 am), the closing arguments are expected at the Oldenburg District Court, as per a court clerk's announcement. The verdict may also be delivered.

Two German defendants are charged with attempted murder and incitement to murder. They have denied these allegations.

The 37-year-old defendant allegedly wanted to kill his ex-wife out of jealousy. He is believed to have convinced his best friend to wait for the woman during the handover of the children in Delmenhorst in February 2023. While the ex-husband stayed in the office during this period, the best friend is accused of shooting the woman with a handgun.

The victim, who was 35 years old at the time, was struck in the face with the bullet. She suffered a severe head injury that could have been life-threatening and required emergency surgery. Barely escaping death, she was fortunate that the children, aged eight, ten, and twelve then, were unharmed and watched the crime unfold. Subsequently, the suspected shooter reportedly fled on a bicycle.
