Oberhausen - Murder plot planned? Witness hands over firearm to police

The Oberhausen police have arrested a 51-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man for allegedly planning a murder plot. The officers had previously been informed by a witness, the police explained on Saturday. The witness had handed in a live firearm with a silencer at a police station in Oberhausen on Friday evening and reported plans to murder a 35-year-old man. The weapon is believed to have been purchased by the suspects.

According to the police, numerous officers were immediately put on alert. The two suspects were arrested after a short time. During searches of their homes and workplaces, evidence such as ammunition, IT media and items of clothing were seized, it was reported. The alleged victim was also informed and questioned. The two suspects were due to appear before a magistrate on Saturday. The background was initially unclear.
