Municipalities and associations call for greater reduction in bureaucracy
Counties, chambers and associations in Saxony-Anhalt are calling on politicians to reduce bureaucracy. New legislation with short implementation deadlines, complicated regulations and additional monitoring obligations are increasingly restricting the work of the districts, according to a website set up specifically for this purpose. Institutions can use a form on the website to report and list superfluous legislation or impractical regulations.
Politicians are always asking for examples of too much bureaucracy, said André Rummel, Managing Director of the Magdeburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The initiative aims to collect these examples. The IHK supports the project.
"Business needs fewer regulations and more leeway," emphasized Rummel. Politicians need to be made aware that companies have reached their limits. Bureaucracy continues to increase, leading to unclear regulations and a lot of uncertainty in the economy.
The districts also criticize the increasing bureaucratization. "Although bureaucracy reduction has been firmly agreed as a political goal in all coalition agreements at state and federal level, the administrative burden continues to rise inexorably in every legislative period," the initiative's website states. Local authority associations, chambers and professional and social associations are therefore called upon to report unnecessary bureaucratic regulations.
Municipalities across the country are joining the call for reduced bureaucracy, aligning with the sentiments expressed by associations. The Magdeburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce, along with local authority associations and professional associations, are actively collecting examples of excessive bureaucracy to highlight its impact on businesses.
