Technology - Munich station clock ends up in a museum
The large four-armed clock from the reception hall of Munich Central Station will in future be on display in the Transport Center of the Deutsches Museum. Unlike the listed clock on the façade of the station, this time display will no longer be used after the renovation of the station, the museum announced in Munich on Monday. The object consists of four individual clocks, which are mounted so that they point in different directions and hung from the ceiling in the old hall.
The design corresponds to the usual station clocks: blue case, white dials, black lines to divide the minutes, black hands and a red second hand. The railroad offered the clock to the museum and it was then dismantled last week, according to the press release. The future museum piece will now be cleaned, preserved and maintained and will go into operation at the transport center in 2024.

The historic clock from the reception hall of Munich Central Station, originating from Bavaria's main station, will now be housed in the Transport Center of the renowned Deutsches Museum. Visitors to Munich's Deutsches Museum in 2024 can admire not only transport-related artifacts but also vintage watches, as the clock's intricate design resembles traditional timepieces. The dismantled clock, featuring blue and white elements like typical railroad clocks, was donated by the railroad to the museum for further preservation and maintenance.
