- Munich man falls 150 meters down a mountain and dies

A man from Munich died while hiking in the Bavarian Alps. The 32-year-old fell around 150 meters while descending the Brecherspitz near Schliersee in the district of Miesbach on Sunday and was found motionless, the police reported. He died at the scene.

According to the reports, the 32-year-old was hiking with six friends from the summit towards the upper Firstalm at midday. He stumbled near the installed steel cables and fell directly into the steep southern slope of the Brecherspitz next to the path. The alerted mountain rescue service and the crew of a rescue helicopter were unable to help the injured man. The shocked companions of the 32-year-old were taken down to the valley. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.

The tragic incident occurred in the Bavarian Alps, specifically near Schliersee in the district of Miesbach. Despite the efforts of the mountain rescue service and a helicopter crew, the man from Munich, who was hiking in Bavaria, could not be saved.
