- Multitudes of onlookers are anticipated at the Rosstag in Rottach-Egern.
A multitude of spectators are anticipated to soak up the excellent weather on Sunday (12:00 PM), gracing the traditional parade at Rosstag in Rottach-Egern by Lake Tegernsee. Around 200 meticulously adorned horses are set to traverse the town, falling within the Miesbach district.
Historic carriages, chaises, Landauers, and other vintage wagons, along with impressive brewery teams, are expected to partake. The horses and their riders will stride through the Ellmau district, where they will be blessed for the forthcoming year at a complimentary altar. Following this, the teams will head towards the festival grounds. Folk groups and brass bands, hailing from Tyrol and South Tyrol, will accompany the procession.
The Rosstag was initiated over five decades ago by horse enthusiast Thomas Böck, under the slogan "d'Fuhrleut kemman z'amm". Since his passing in 2007, the municipality has spearheaded the event's organization.
Visitors who enjoy vintage vehicles will be thrilled to see a variety of historic carriages, chaises, Landauers, and other 'Other' antique wagons during the parade. After being blessed in the Ellmau district, these 'Other' vintage teams will join the festivities at the festival grounds.
