- Multiple Migrants Discovered in Cars in the Czech Republic, Leaving One Passenger Deceased
In Czechia, authorities stumble upon around 30 migrants squeezed into the cargo area of a truck. Upon the arrival of first responders, they were found in unfortunate condition, with updates being shared on platform X in Prague. Regardless of life-saving measures, a physician could only declare the demise of a woman assumed to be around 30 years old.
The truck, boasting foreign registration plates, was halted on the A8 (E55) motorway heading towards Saxony, situated close to Nova Ves in the Melnik district, roughly 30 kilometers north of Prague. The highway was momentarily shut down completely during this incident. Law enforcement officials speculate that these migrants were merely transiting through Czechia, bound for Western Europe. Their initial place of origin remained a mystery.
As per the Interior Ministry in Prague, Czechia detained 13,898 individuals lacking legitimate residence permits throughout the last year. This marked a significant fall compared to the numbers from 2022.
