- Motorist dies after car accident
A driver, a 26-year-old woman, died after a traffic accident in the Westerwald district. A rescue helicopter had transported her to a clinic, where she succumbed to her injuries, the police reported.
According to current findings, the woman had, for unknown reasons, driven her car onto the opposite lane of the federal road 255 near Rennerod on a straight stretch and collided there with a small truck. The 49-year-old driver of the truck sustained minor injuries. The road was fully closed for several hours.
After the traffic accident, emergency services deployed multiple vehicles, including helicopters, to provide assistance. Despite being transported by a rescue helicopter to the hospital, the woman's injuries were too severe to be overcome.
