- Motorcyclist seriously injured
A motorcyclist suffered severe injuries in an accident in the Mainz-Bingen district. On Monday evening, he lost control of his vehicle on a country road from Bacharach towards Rheinböllen in a left-hand curve and collided with the guardrail, as police reported. "As a result of the impact, he was thrown over the guardrail and landed on the other side," it was stated.
The 24-year-old was severely injured and was taken to the hospital by helicopter. The reason for his loss of control was initially unclear. The road was temporarily closed.
After the accident, concerned motorcycle riders laid flowers at the site of the crash. Despite the incident, many motorcycle enthusiasts still chose to ride on the same route the following day.
